The Important StuffFolks, Things have been very quiet around here, so I got out of the habit of checking often enough. For this reason, when you leave a note here, please also contact me at
Thank you! There has been some apparent confusion on some points, so we will make a few things explicit here for everyone's information.
1. you must become a member to have your deviations posted in Digital Tweakers. To join, watch us, and send us a request. We will put your icon in our journal. Please put our icon in your journal or your signature.
2. PLEASE leave favorites and comments on the ORIGINAL deviation. We want our artists to get the credit they deserve.
3. Let's have some variety of things submitted for tweaking. Nearly everything we have gotten has been made in Ultrafractal. There are so many more programs that make tweakable files. Please! If you do submit something in Ultrafractal, please make sure that the formulas and coloring methods you use are readily available.
Folks, I'm having trouble with the display of icons, so if yours is missing, PLEASE let me know! Thanks!
To those of you who have been around, the material below is old news.
There is enough news that I'm designating this a "new" journal entry, so you will all be notified. We have a nice starter group of members. Please publicize this group! Thanks!
About our icon: this is made up of small portions of six different tweaks of the same image, the first in our gallery, and should give a visitor some idea of the diversity that can be derived from one fractal image. The original images were made in Ultrafractal, and each used the same formula, with some variation in coloring methods.
Digital Tweakers was set up as a group for people who like to tweak each other's digital art. The purpose is to encourage this tweaking, because it is very good for learning and artistic development. I got the idea from a tweak exchange with
Some of the programs in which people can tweak include those that have files that save a scene for rerendering, such as Ultrafractal, Terragen, Bryce, Vue d'Esprit, Mojoworld, Apophysis, Xenodream (except for lightings), etc.
Some programs that will allow tweaking of photographs or other images through filters include Paint Shop Pro.
Tweaking must always be by mutual agreement. Except for photomanipulation, this requires the exchange of the files that will recreate the deviation in your program. In the case of photographs, both of you will need to grant permission for the deviation to be posted.
To join, send me a note. Be sure and
the group. Then place the link for the group in your correspondence or on your home page. Let me know in your note that you have done this.

This group will publish deviations that are the basis for a tweak exchange, or which have been tweaked, or the images that result. Please, family friendly deviations only (artistic nudity, but nothing beyond that). To submit an image for publication in the group, put the image in your own gallery and then send me a note with the URL. Also include a link to the deviation that was tweaked. I will post it, and give a link back to the original for comments and
and to the previous image. Please keep your image size under 300kb. I only have a 28kb modem, and I have to download your image and reupload it (until I find out a different way of doing it, if there is any). If the image is too large for display on a 1280 screen or less, I will resize it before posting here.
An anonymous donor bought us a three month subscription!
:!: Thank you so much! If you would like to buy a sponsorship for this group at the end of that time, please let me know. Thank you.

Now I'm trying to figure out how >I< got your message instead if it going to the Digital Tweakers group. I'll have to scratch my head a bit over that one.
If you like to do that sort of thing, hey come on by!
I don't check it often because it's so slow and I'm so far behind, but I do check it.

Please do join. Sorry I didn't see your note before. Shame on me! That was almost a year ago. No excuse. You use quite a collection of fractal programs! I'll look forward to tweaking some of your stuff. I don't use most of those programs, but I use Apophysis and UltraFractal. So do a lot of other folks here. I also use PSP. Wish I had a Wacom tablet. Maybe someday.

Just saw your note. Sorry for the delay. By all means, give us a tweakable poem!

HI
and a general HELLO
I am submitting an apo to/for this club. I HOPE IT IS NOT DELETED BY DA ADMIN. I am submitting it as a poem, so that the flame file (I hope) is a downloadable file rather than a huge block of text that the tweeker needs to copy/paste/name/curse!
At least this description sounds close enough to what this really is.
Section: Poetry > Experimental > Cyber Poetry
If the description(s) below match your submission, click Yes. Otherwise click No, because you are submitting into the wrong gallery.
Poetry:
There are so many types and styles of poetry, that it is impossible to put it in one single description. To start, we'll say what poetry isn't. Poetry is not text you would find in a new article, novel, or technical document. These things are called prose, which is unhelpfully also defined as writings which are not poetry.
Poetry often features:
* Meter - the pattern of syllabic "beats" in a line
* Rhyme - the use of like-sounding words to structure lines
* Line breaks - an unconventional use of line breaks to isolate or highlight ideas
Experimental:
Experimental work concentrates on developing new literary techniques to express a concept. This section of poetry is small as people actively concentrating on this work are relatively individual actions and not many broad categories have been formed yet.
Cyber Poetry:
In our cyber world, many interesting takes on mixing poetry and code have sprung up. Relying on syntax, variable interaction, or other coding techniques - meaningful approaches to concepts are taken. Cyber Poetry mixes poetry and code. If your poem does not contain elements of code, DO NOT POST IT HERE.
SOOOOO Wish me luck and we shall see what comes of this!
I am a fractal artist;
I use Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, Corel's Painter, Corel's Bryce and a Wacom Tablet.
For fractals, I currently use Fractalvizion, Fractint, 2 QSfrac progs, Fractal Explorer, Atriatix, Apophysis, Kaosrhei, Quat, Raimu1-7, Ultra Fractal, Tierazon, Chaos Pro, Fractal Forge, Vchira, Fracxtr6, Ktza, and Sterlingware. I enjoy mixing these fractal programs as well.
Other programs used occasionally: Anmanie and Knotworker.

And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming.
And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted... nevermore!
